Cayden's Party

On Labour Day, my family invited all our family members to celebrate Cayden's first birthday. Being the traditional Chinese he is, my dad opted to have the "party" in a Chinese restaurant ala wedding banquet style wtf. We booked three tables in the restaurant for 15 people each, and 10 dishes were served up course by course.

In the picture you can see four tables filled with people, but the table on the extreme right are a random family and once they saw so many of us there they quickly ate and ciao FTL. Anyway I sat at the kiddy table, and the young girls you see above are my cousin's daughters who call Cayden "uncle" wtf. The table behind this are the older relatives from my dad's side and the table next to it are my mom's family.

I don't have a proper picture of Cayden that day so this will have to suffice. He was wearing his new shirt with a fake vest on it and my mom bought those striped pants for him just the day before because he didn't have any pants to go with his baju. I think those pants make him look like mafia big boss haha!

The minute we arrived, the food was served  on our tables already wtf. I barely even sat down for 5 minutes and 3 of the dishes are already out. I only managed to take pics of the first few dishes, coz after that it was all eating and merrymaking wtf.

first dish: soup

second dish: mixed mushrooms with scallops.

the scallops were HUGE! even bigger than the mushrooms!

third dish: prawns in Mongolian sauce. Yum!

dessert 1: fried yam with durian stuffing! this was absolute yum!!

After food, it's picture time! And I realized there's no pictures of me at all in any of the family pics because I was behind the cam T.T Sorry Cayden, it's like I wasn't there for your first birthday T.T

cake-cutting time!

This chocolate cake was made by my neighbour who makes fab carrot cakes as well. My mom ordered 3 cakes from him for Cayden's birthday and I only managed to get one slice of this cake fml. But still, this chocolate cake was heavenly! Way better than the store-bought ones!

This shot turned out extra nice because the flash from my cousin's camera hit it when i pressed down the shutter button. Awesome timing/proud of self wtf.

After that we all went back to my place and had a celebration with the second cake but this time Cayden didn't wanna blow out his candle lol. All in all it was good to get the family together again, especially for my grandmother who's super old and came all the way from Muar just for this lunch. Cayden must be her favourite grandson now hmph /jealous.

Two more days till Cayden officially turns one! It's shitty that I'm stuck in Nilai with exams on his actual birthday :(
