Reunited And It Feels So Good

I had a very homely reunion dinner with my family back in Kelantan a day before Chinese New Year. It was quite a reunion for every member of my maternal side of the family was present, and there were plenty of food.

Most of the dishes were prepared by my dad (codename Chef Chan wtf) and thank god none of the dishes went wrong this time because my dad is notoriously known for preparing"experimental dishes" for us to try out. This time he played it safe.

Here are some of the dishes from that day for you to feast your eyes on (it's a pun geddit geddit).

sweet sour crispy pork ribs

Not a big fan of meat, I merely just munched on the cucumber for this one. I think it was good though for my little cousins ate it all up in no time.

steamed prawns with Chinese rice wine

re4
broccoli covered with abalones
(my favourite!)

Asam fish
(it looks better in real life wtf)

re7
stewed  pork in pumpkin

So this year I had a buffet eat-all-you-can style reunion dinner with my family. The food was good, but I would have preferred to eat out where everyone in the family could fit into one table instead of us grabbing our food and eating wherever and whenever we want. I guess they do things differently back in Kelantan. Oh well, at least everyone was present and that's the whole point of reunions anyway right?

How was yours?
